Preface dated Twickenham, May 27, 1727; signed: Jonath. Swift, Alex. Pope. It describes the contents as being "whatever loose papers in prose and verse, we have formerly written ... likewise all the papers wherein we have casually had any share; particularly those writ in conjunction with our friends, Dr. Arbuthnot and Mr. Gay; and lastly, all of this sort composed singly by either of those hands."
Several parts have special t.p.'s. The last part "Miscellanies in verse. Cadenus and Vanessa" has also separate pagination.

Most of the first volume had appeared in 1711 under the same title, and additional volumes appeared in 1732 and 1735.
