Correspondence and financial and legal records relating to the administration of the estate of Thomas Wilson of Caldbeck by the family solicitor, Thomas Wright of Carlisle. Correspondents include Wilson's sister Jane Helme; his children, Mary Wilson Helme and Sarah Wilson Kirk, and their spouses; Helen Taylor, Mary Wilson's schoolmistress at Rawdon House School; and various solicitors and businessmen. Subjects include payment of annuities, bequests and taxes; Mary's and Sarah's educations and daily lives at school; the auction of Wilson's Normans Cragg property in 1865; and title searches.
Administrative records include title documentation for Caldbeck Manor and Normans Cragg; estate auction records; several versions of Wilson's will; and accounts, bills and receipts, among them two signed by Wordsworth's son Willy. The title documents for Normans Cragg also include an abstract of the 1816 will of Richard Wordsworth, the poet's brother.
