The Center offers one- or two- month Dissertation Research Fellowships and nine-month Dissertation Writing Fellowships for students in the history of science, technology and medicine. More information and online application here.

The Philadelphia Area Center for History of Science is delighted to release an online search of the combined special collections of nine of its consortium partners: the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia, the American Philosophical Society, the Chemical Heritage Foundation, the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, the Hagley Museum and Library, the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, the Library Company of Philadelphia, the University of Pennsylvania, and the Wagner Free Institute of Science.

The Philadelphia Area Center for History of Science invites applications for support of conferences and workshops on the history of science, technology and medicine—broadly construed. The current competition is for conferences that will take place during 10 January 2012 - 30 June 2012. We plan to support two events and to adjust and expand the program based on the outcome of this first round.

Terry wrote to PACHS recently about his post-doctoral work:

"The 2009-2010 academic year was very productive for me. This circumstance is due, in large part, to the resources available to me as a PACHS Visiting Fellow. As a consequence of this access, I was able to fully develop two projects, one of which will be submitted for publication in the summer of 2010.
