 Notes:  Glass negative showing a full length portrait of Jedediah H. Adams and Allan M. Mowry (Haverford College class of 1887 and part of the Everett Society) dressed in elaborate costumes. One is dressed as a woman with a long dresses and purse and the other wears a three-piece suit, top hat, and false beard. They stand in front of a stone wall covered with vines and a suitcase sits on the ground near the man's feet. The Everett Society was founded by students in 1858. Their activities included declamations, orations, debates and essay writing. The Society merged with the Haverford Athenaeum in 1889 to form the Everett-Athenaeum Society.

 Notes:  Glass negative showing the Haverford College class of 1888, a large group of young men posed in rows on a set of steps at the residential hall, Barclay Hall. Some hold cricket bats and racquets. The back row stands while the front two rows sit on the steps. Some of the men hold racquets and cricket bats. They wear three-piece suits and hats. Barclay Hall was built in 1877 to expand the living quarters of Haverford College, originally founded in 1833.

Five men sit on the bench while three stand behind and three sit on the grass at their feet. The man on the far left sitting on the ground wears shin pads. Haverford College was founded in 1833.

 Notes:  Glass negative showing a group of men from the classes of 1888 and 1889 gathered in a field at Haverford College (founded 1833) to participate in the cane rush. Most of the men wear jackets and hats as they cluster together looking toward something in the center of their circle. The cane rush was an annual event where sophomores and freshman would fight to put the most hands on a cane. The event was officially abolished in 1889.
