 Creator:  Hazelton, Joseph H., 1855-1936 
 Notes:  Phonograph record of Hazelton's reminiscence of Lincoln's assassination. The written version of this account first appeared in the February 1927 issue of Ladies Home Journal. The recording was made in 1933 at Freeman Lang's studios on Hollywood, Calif. The recording was made for Transco. 16 inch shellac disk; the matrix number is A1087, etched in the wax. The author's name is spelled "Hazleton." This recording has been digitized and is available on the Huntington Digital Library (HDL). Please click on the link in this record to hear the audio.

 Notes:  Sound recording of poetry readings by Charles Bukowski (00:02:00-00:23:38) and Neeli Cherkovski (00:23:40-00:44:25) in Los Angeles, California, in August 1969. The readings are followed by a conversational story from Charles Bukowski about being in Moyamensing Prison (00:44:26-00:54:31); Bukowski speaking on organized religion and human organization (00:54:35-00:58:36); and a "Joint essay by Charles Bukowski and Neeli Cherry" read by Cherkovski, beginning, "The difference between poetry and shit is that shit always stinks..." (58:37-1:03:07). The tape begins with some noises and asides by Bukowski followed by the identification: "A poetry reading of two poets Charles Bukowski and Neeli Cherry with conversations. Recorded 375" (00:01:30-00:01:50). Tape labeled: "Charles Bukowski-Neeli Cherry; Poetry-Conversation, August 1969, Los Angeles."
