She also answers questions from audience members. Other artists are mentioned, including Pierre Monteux, Fyodor Chaliapin, Amelita Galli-Curci, Jean Sibelius, Hall Johnson, Roland Hayes and Anderson's first teacher, Mary Saunders Patterson. Anderson also offers general comments about performances by three student vocalists. Beach Langston's draft of his book Faulkner, Tradition and Christian Myth contains notes in the margin on how to improve the work and two different drafts of chapter one. The magnetic and VHS tapes contain talks given by readers, including talks for the Friends of the Huntington Library, a membership organization supporting the Library.
