The items include: Letter from Hughes to Brown (1963, Mar. 20). Hughes comments that he knows Eartha Kitt and that she is "wonderful." He also says "don't ask me about Chicago, because I almost never go there" but that she can ask anything about Harlem. On verso: handwritten postscript by Hughes. HM 80590 Letter from Walter Lowenfels to Brown (1964, Mar. 5) in which he asks for copies of some of her poetry. He also states that Langston Hughes game him her address.
