Name of opera supplied by the Schirmer's Library Anthology of Italian song of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Possible range of dates suggested by date of first performance of opera.  Notes:  Italian manuscript part book for the alto voice, probably copied in Florence, Italy between 1555 and 1560 by a professional scribe, containing a selection of 45 Italian madrigals by composers such as Jacques Arcadelt, Francesco Corteccia, Costanzo Festa, Philippe Verdelot, Jacquet de Berchem, Antonio Barré, Vincenzo Ruffo, Cipriano de Rose, and others. Madrigals bear original ink numbering in three separate series; music arranged on five-line staves in brown ink, in round notation; Italian words below music. Of the [91] leaves, [53] leaves contain music; [38] leaves contain blank staves only. Part book was originally part of a larger complex of manuscripts devoted to the madrigal repertory; companion tenor part to the alto, and four additional partbooks from a second set of books of similar date, copied by the same scribe, now in the Biblioteca Comunale of Civitanova Marche, a small town on the Adriatic coast.  Notes:  Unsigned, undated manuscript, probably from Italy, of the vocal score and piano accompaniment of Auber's ballet opera Dieu et la bayadère, with Eugène Scribe's original French libretto translated into Italian. Dates suggested by first performance in Paris, October 13, 1830, and dates of subsequent translations and performances; cf. Loewenberg, Annals of opera. Music arranged on hand-ruled 5-line staves, with round notation in brown ink. Stage directions and libretto corrections added in another contemporary hand. Quarter-bound in brown mottled calf and marbled paper; gold-stamped spine, with black leather spine label, and title: "Auber. La bajadera asoroma [sic]"; small paper shelf label affixed above.
