 Notes:  Music book containing manuscript songs, most represented by words only, some with music scores. Contents include glees, excerpts from theater music, and patriotic songs concerning a possible invasion of England by Napoleon. Two songs are dated: "New Song on His Majesty's Escape from Being Shot in Drury Lane Theatre, on the Night of 16th May, 1800," concerning an assassination attempt by James Hadfield; and "King Roger, a Cumberland Ballad, by Robert Anderson...Carlisle, Feby 25th, 1806." Stamped on cover: T. Tyas. Includes partial index of titles. Binding: contemporary full calf, worn.
