Manuscript handwritten in various colors of ink on lined three-hole-punch paper, housed in a contemporary, commercially-produced three-ring metal binder with gray cloth cover and decorated endpapers. The binder has a printed label on the back paste-down endpaper: I-P loose-leaf ring binder, H.A. Farnell & Co., Brooklyn, New York. Illustrated with hand-drawn diagrams. Some pages have mounted portions of mechanically-reproduced text printed in purple or black ink. Notes apparently made by Locke in preparation for teaching a college-level course in algebra.
