Curtis with autograph corrections and signature, which he composed at the Brunswick Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts, to Rosina Scherr in New York City, October 31, 1911. The letter accompanied a program and promotional leaflets, not present, related to a traveling lecture and musical program, The Indian Picture Opera, created by Curtis, which he also describes in the letter. The magic lantern slide show promoted his work, The North American Indian (1907-1930), and included images of American Indians supported by a small orchestra playing music composed by Henry F. B. Gilbert, which he based on Native American music.
