7Title:  Correspondence of James P. Orde, 1740-1842 bulk (1823-1842)
 Creator:  Orde, James P. | Harding, G. P. (George Perfect), 1780-1853
Notes:  This collection contains correspondence from October 1823-1842 from James P. Orde of Edge Hill, commissioning George Perfect Harding, 1780-1853 to copy portraits in various country homes throughout England. Harding, who died in 1853, was known for this particular type of work and also as a miniaturist. Apparently, Orde intended to use the pictures to illustrate a work on John Evelyn. Also included is an unsigned letter written on New Year's Day, 1740 to someone abroad about politics and politicians. There is also a document confirming an attestation before William Staines, Lord Mayor of London on June 9, 1801.
