Translation attributed to Giovanni Battista da Borgofranco (brother of printer Jacobus de Burgofranco) by Schweiger and Haym but this has been disputed by Apostolo Zeno as noted in "Biblioteca dell'eloquenza italiana di monsignore Giusto Fontanini" (p. 403) who states that the translation was only commissioned by Borgofranco. Signatures: a-x⁸. Printer's device on title page has monogram identifed as Vaccaro 378. Some copies reported have printer's device (Vaccaro 379) on last leaf.

 Notes:  Ms. codex. An 1875 copy by C. Hermann Berendt of a collection of Catholic doctrine translated into the Kekchi language. Berendt describes the lost original as being very old, based on the forms of expression. Contents include texts of prayers (Lord's prayer, Ave Maria), the act of contrition, and confession; texts related to the rosary; and lists of the ten commandments, sacraments, articles of faith, and sins and virtues. The last item is a treatise on the first two commandments, with the Kekchi text on the left page and the Spanish text on the right page of each opening. A table of contents follows the last item. Title from title page (f. 3r). The first and third characters of the word Kekchi and the third character of the name Pakay are written using the tresillo symbol. Pagination: Paper, viii + 114 + vi; pagination in Berendt's hand, upper center. Layout: Written in 17 long lines. Script: Written in the hand of C. Hermann Berendt. Binding: Late 19th-century half leather. Origin: Copied in Cobán, Guatemala, in April 1875.
