Thomas Jefferson needs your help forecasting the weather and discovering fossils!

Join Museum Guide Sarah Snyder and learn why early Americans like Thomas Jefferson and James Madison studied weather patterns, fossils, and plants to understand the climate. Visitors will explore ways to record weather data and investigate fossils!

All visitors are welcome to join us in Jefferson Garden between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m..

This program will take place in person and visitors are welcome to come and go as they please. If you are interested in learning more about motivations to study the weather, be sure to stop at the APS exhibition, Becoming Weatherwise, located across the street in Philosophical Hall.

Masks are strongly encouraged but not required. Email museumeducation@amphilsoc.org with any questions.
