Pennsylvania Saving Fund Society Howe and Lescaze Design Archive (Accession 2062) Although acquired in 1993, the blueprints, drawings, and photographs by Howe and Lescaze, designers of Philadelphia’s Pennsylvania Saving Fund Society Building, are being conserved and will be available at the end of October. The PSFS Building, completed in 1932, is generally regarded as the first International Style building in the United States. This project was supported in part by Saving America’s Treasures through a partnership between the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Park Service, Department of the Interior. Rolf Dessauer Papers (Accession 2451) Rolf Dessauer was a pioneer of biimidazole chemistry at the DuPont company, and his work led to the company’s successful Dylux line of photo-proofing products that allowed the printing industry to produce dry instant proofs of lithographic negatives. Dessauer went on at DuPont to help optimize the technology for producing color TV tubes and products for the photodecoration of wood and leather.
