The New York Academy of Medicine Library and the Fellow’s Section on the History of Medicine and Public Health invite you to take a fantastic voyage with us.

On November 2, 2023, at 6:00pm, join us at NYAM for a screening of the modern-day documentary De Humani Corporis Fabrica from filmmakers Verena Paravel and Lucien Castaing-Taylor who took inspiration from the 16th century groundbreaking tome of the same name by anatomist and physician Andreas Vesalius.

For this occasion, we will put on display some of the Library’s copies of Vesalius’s seminal text which provided the most in-depth look at human anatomy that the world had ever seen at the time through magnificent illustrations of the dissected human form paired with the written word.
