Daniel Vandersommers, Assistant Professor at the Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities at Ball State University, and former Consortium NEH Postdoctoral Fellow, will deliver a public talk on the role of zoos as sites for scientific research and education.

2017 to 2018 Research Fellow

The Linda Hall Library is now accepting applications for its 2019-20 fellowship program. These fellowships fund research stays in Kansas City, MO lasting between one week and four months for graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and independent scholars in the history of science and related STS fields.

The Smithsonian Libraries’ Dibner Library of the History of Science and Technology has recently acquired the splendid manuscript collection of the late Henry Willard Lende, Jr, notable history of science scholar and collector. The collection encompasses 148 autograph letters by renowned scientists from the 18th to the 20th centuries. The selected list of authors of the letters speaks for itself. The collection represents an extremely high historical, research and educational value:
